Infant Feeding Support

You just brought your baby home—why make another office visit? I’ll come to you.

During a home or virtual visit for breastfeeding/chestfeeding/bodyfeeding support, I will do the following:

  • Obtain a HIPAA compliant consent form that we both sign for consent for the home visit

  • Take a full health history of the feeding parent and the baby

  • Observe the baby feeding at the breast/chest, bottle, or both

  • Provide a physical assessment of the breast/chest and of the baby's oral cavity

  • Provide latching and positioning assistance

  • Weigh the baby with a specialized weighted scale for pre and post feeding weights

  • Provide a follow up plan of care after the home visit specifically for your family’s needs that will also be made available to your health care providers so everyone can work as a team

  • Provide you with a Superbill (medical receipt) at the end of the visit and after you pay me that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement

  • Work as an advocate and resource for your family as you proceed along your breastfeeding/chestfeeding journey

I can assist on any other topic or issue that is relevant to you or your baby to help achieve your breastfeeding/chestfeeding goals, including:

  • nipple/breast/chest pain

  • low or abundant milk supply

  • tongue and lip ties (TOTs)

  • poor weight gain in baby

  • pumping

  • bottle feeding

  • plugged ducts, mastitis

  • colic/reflux

  • engorgement

  • chestfeeding

  • inducing lactation

  • nipple shields

  • at breast/chest supplementers
